Frequently Asked Questions

In-person in West LA & Beverly Hills • Telehealth Across California

  • Sessions are $225 for 60 minutes.

For those looking for deeper, more intensive work, 2 hour sessions are available for $450.

If cost is a concern, let’s talk. I maintain several sliding fee scale spots on my caseload to help make therapy more accessible for those experiencing financial constraints.

  • Availability can vary depending on the time of year and current caseload.

I typically offer weekday and weekend appointments, including daytimes and limited evening availability.

You’re welcome to reach out to check current openings.

  • Yes. I offer in-person sessions in West LA and Beverly Hills offices, as well as online sessions throughout California.

  • I do not take insurance and am considered an out-of-network provider. Therapy is offered on a private pay basis.

If you have a PPO health plan you may be able to use a superbill to receive partial reimbursement for therapy sessions through your out-of-network benefits.

  • A superbill is a detailed receipt for services that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

    How it works:

    1. You pay for your session at the time of service.

    2. I provide a superbill with the required information.

    3. You submit the superbill to your insurance company.

    4. Your insurance company processes it and reimburses you according to your plan.

Please note: Submitting a superbill does not guarantee reimbursement. Each insurance company has different rules so I recommend contacting your provider before starting therapy to ask about: deductible requirements, your co-insurance, percentage of reimbursement, and the steps to submit claims.

Important: Insurance companies require a qualifying diagnosis and may request access to records. Some clients prefer private pay to avoid sharing diagnoses. For private pay clients I do not assign a diagnosis unless you request one for insurance purposes.

  • People seek therapy for many different reasons. Some come in looking for support with concerns such as anxiety, trauma, depression, relationship challenges, grief, burnout, sleep difficulties, low self-esteem, or major life transitions.

Others are less focused on symptom relief and more interested in personal growth, self-understanding, improving performance, deepening relationships, or exploring questions related to identity, purpose, and spirituality.

  • Yes, that can be a very real and common experience when thinking about starting therapy. Many, if not most people, feel some level of ambivalence, skepticism, or fear.

It makes sense that one part of you is ready for support and change, while another part feels hesitant, unsure, or even afraid of what therapy might bring up. Some people worry about being judged, uncovering difficult emotions, or whether their struggles are “serious enough” to deserve help. Others notice that once they schedule, they feel temporarily better and begin to question whether they still need it.

All of this is a normal response to stepping into something new and vulnerable. Therapy often sits at that edge, where growth and discomfort can coexist.

If there is a part of you that feels curious or hopes for something to be different, that is worth paying attention to. The mixed feelings you have about starting are not a barrier. They can actually be a meaningful place to begin, and something we can explore together.

  • In our first session, we’ll focus on understanding what brings you in and what you’d like to get out of therapy. From there, we’ll shape the work around your goals and what feels most supportive to you.

Sessions may include a mix of conversation and experiential practices. Depending on your needs and preferences, I may incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS), Brainspotting, and/or somatic practices. Not sure what any of these modalities mean? No problem. You don’t need to be familiar with any of these beforehand. I’ll guide you through anything we use.

Many of these approaches are experiential and help us slow down to move beyond words, allowing you to connect with yourself and attend to what needs support in a deeper, more intuitive way.

Over time, we’ll get a clearer sense of what resonates most with you and adjust the process accordingly.

  • Standard sessions are 60 minutes.

Extended 2 hour sessions are available for those who would like additional time for deeper exploration, sustained processing, or working through more complex material without feeling rushed.

  • This varies depending on what someone is hoping to work on, their circumstances, and the pace that feels right for them. Some people seek shorter-term support focused on a specific goal, while others come in with longer-standing challenges or discover new areas they’d like to explore as therapy progresses.

Many of my clients work with me for 6–12 months, while others choose to continue for several years. We can check in periodically to make sure the process continues to feel helpful and aligned with your goals.

Whether we work together for a few months or a few years, my goal is to help you make meaningful progress and feel supported in creating the changes you’re looking for.

  • Most clients meet weekly, especially at the beginning of therapy. This helps build consistency, deepen the therapeutic relationship, and create momentum in the work.

Some clients may transition to biweekly sessions over time, particularly after making progress, feeling more stable, or preparing to transition out of therapy.

Throughout the process, we’ll regularly discuss the frequency of sessions together to make sure the level of support continues to feel appropriate and helpful for your needs.

  • I work with many clients whose schedules vary from week to week due to work or other life circumstances. When possible, I’m happy to offer flexibility with scheduling as long as we’re able to find appointment times that remain consistent enough to support the therapy process and are workable for both of us.

  • I accept credit/debit cards as well as HSA/FSA cards. Payments are processed securely through my client portal following each session.

  • I provide individual therapy for adults age 18 and older. At this time, I do not offer therapy for children, couples, or families.

  • I ask for at least 48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling requests. Sessions canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice are typically charged the full session fee.

I understand that emergencies, illness, and unexpected situations can arise. Because of this, I’m able to waive one late cancellation fee per calendar year when circumstances warrant.

Please note that when you schedule an appointment, that time is reserved specifically for you and cannot typically be offered to another client on short notice.

  • There are several ways to get started. You can schedule a free consultation through my online scheduling portal, send me an email, or call/text me at 424-388-5105.

To help protect your privacy, I recommend avoiding the inclusion of sensitive or highly personal information in emails, text messages, or voicemail, as these forms of communication may not be fully secure or encrypted.

If we decide that we’re a good fit after the consultation, we can move forward with scheduling an initial session and begin our work together.
